Reservation Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions apply and are incorporated into contracts between The Big Blue Hotel and its guests for reservations and the use of accommodation and ancillary services.
We/Us means The Big Blue Hotel
You/Your means all guests using hotel accommodation and its ancillary services
Guest(s) means the person with whom The Big Blue Hotel has contracted and the other persons who are permitted to use the accommodation and ancillary services with him/her.
Complimentary Pleasure Beach Resort Ticket Offer
Guests staying on selected Sunday–Friday nights may receive one complimentary Pleasure Beach Resort ticket per person, per qualifying night stayed, for use during their stay.
To redeem this offer, guests must:
- Book directly via www.bigbluehotel.com
- Stay on eligible dates when Pleasure Beach Resort is operational
- Add the Pleasure Beach Resort Ticket option at the time of booking
- Collect tickets from the Hotel Reception on the day of your visit.
Offer Terms
- Offer valid on selected Sunday–Friday nights only and excludes Saturdays.
- Offer is not valid for bookings made through third-party websites or travel agents.
- Tickets are only available on dates when Pleasure Beach Resort is operational and do not apply to Nickelodeon Land-only operating dates.
- One ticket is provided per person, per qualifying night stayed.
- Speedy Pass upgrades are not available with complimentary tickets.
- Guests should check operational dates and opening times via the Pleasure Beach website before travel.
- Tickets are non-transferable, non-refundable, and have no cash value.
- Offer applies to new reservations only and excludes negotiated, corporate, or event rates.
- Complimentary ticket availability is limited and subject to availability.
- The Hotel reserves the right to amend or withdraw this offer at any time.
Half-Price Ticket Offer – March & November
Guests staying on a Friday night during selected dates in March and November may purchase Pleasure Beach Resort tickets at up to 50% discount for use on Saturdays.
Offer Terms
- Valid only for bookings made directly with the Hotel via www.bigbluehotel.com or through the Hotel reservations team.
- Tickets must be added at the time of booking.
- Offer is not available through third-party booking websites or agents.
- Speedy Pass upgrades are not available with discounted tickets.
- Tickets are non-transferable.
- Offer applies to new reservations only and excludes negotiated, corporate, and event rates.
- Discounted ticket availability is limited and subject to availability.
- The Hotel reserves the right to amend or withdraw this offer at any time.
General Reservation Terms & Conditions
Reservations
Reservations are confirmed based on the selected arrival date, occupancy, and duration of stay. Changes to your stay, including early departure, may result in a revised room rate.
The Hotel reserves the right to cancel or amend any reservation where fraudulent activity, misuse, or booking errors are suspected.
Payment
- Payment is due on arrival unless an advance purchase rate has been booked.
- Advance purchase reservations require full payment at the time of booking and are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- No pre-payments may be processed within 3 days of arrival.
- The Hotel operates as a cashless property. Most major credit and debit cards are accepted.
- For bookings made by telephone or via third parties using advance purchase rates, the original payment card must be presented upon arrival for security verification.
- Failure to present the payment card may result in accommodation being refused, and any refund will be at the Hotel’s discretion.
Rates
- All room rates are subject to availability and may change without notice.
- Rates are based on the occupancy stated at the time of booking.
- Advance purchase rates must be booked at least 3 days before arrival.
- Guests are advised to arrange appropriate travel insurance for non-refundable bookings.
Non-Arrival
- If you fail to arrive on the scheduled arrival date, the first night’s accommodation charge will be applied to the payment card provided.
- For advance purchase reservations, the full booking amount will be charged.
- Rooms are held for one night only. Failure to arrive on the confirmed date will result in cancellation of any remaining nights.
Facilities & Parking
- All facilities, including parking, are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed or reserved in advance.
- Hotel parking is available at a discounted rate of £10.00 per vehicle per night (12:00 midday to 12:00 midday) for direct bookings.
- Higher parking charges may apply to third-party bookings.
- Parking spaces cannot be guaranteed.
- Vehicles and their contents are left entirely at the owner’s risk.
- The Hotel accepts no liability for loss, theft, or damage.
Family Rooms
- Family rooms accommodate up to two adults and two children.
- An additional child may be accommodated only by prior agreement.
- Family rooms are recommended for children aged 12 years and under or under 5ft in height.
- Standard bunk beds provide approximately 5ft sleeping space, while deluxe family rooms provide approximately 6ft.
New Year Period
Unless guests are staying on the Hotel’s official New Year Residential Package:
- Accommodation will be provided on a bed and breakfast basis only.
- Blues Bar & Brasserie may not be available for dinner service.
- Entertainment is not included.
Special Requests
- The Hotel will make every reasonable effort to accommodate special requests; however, requests cannot be guaranteed and do not form part of the booking contract.
Check-In & Check-Out
- Check-in is available from 3:00pm.
- Check-out is by 11:00am.
- Exact check-in times cannot be guaranteed.
- Late check-out until 1:00pm may be available for an additional £30.00 per room, subject to availability.
- Luggage storage facilities are available at the owner’s risk.
E-Scooters, E-Bikes & Mobility Scooters
- For safety reasons, e-scooters, e-bikes, and mobility scooters are not permitted inside the Hotel building.
Group Bookings
- As a family-oriented hotel, the Hotel does not accept single-sex group bookings exceeding three rooms.
- If this policy is breached, the Hotel reserves the right to refuse check-in and any refund will be at the Hotel’s discretion.
Dog & Assistance Dog Policy
Dogs are permitted only in designated dog-friendly rooms.
Dog Policy Terms
- Guests must notify the Hotel in advance if travelling with a dog and provide the breed and approximate weight.
- Dogs must not exceed 10kg in weight.
- Rooms are allocated at the Hotel’s discretion according to occupancy requirements.
- Dogs are not permitted in rooms other than the allocated bedroom.
- A charge of £35.00 per dog, per night applies, excluding registered guide or assistance dogs.
- Dogs must not be left unattended in bedrooms at any time.
- Dogs must be well-behaved and controlled at all times.
- Guests are responsible for preventing excessive noise or disturbance.
- Dogs must remain on a lead in public areas.
- Dogs are not permitted in food and beverage areas, gym facilities, or meeting/event spaces, except registered assistance dogs.
- Guests are responsible for immediately cleaning up after their dog.
- Any damage, staining, or additional cleaning costs caused by pets will be charged accordingly.
- Hotel staff are not permitted to feed, walk, or supervise dogs.
- The Hotel reserves the right to amend or withdraw pet accommodation privileges if operational issues arise.
- Registered guide and assistance dogs stay free of charge.
Guest Conduct
- All guests are expected to behave respectfully and responsibly at all times.
- The Hotel reserves the right to terminate accommodation immediately without refund if a guest’s behaviour:
- Causes distress, nuisance, alarm, or annoyance to staff or other guests
- Risks damage to Hotel property
- Disrupts the enjoyment or safety of others
- At least one guest aged 18 or over must occupy each room.
Smoking Policy
- The Hotel operates a strict non-smoking policy throughout all indoor areas, including the use of e-cigarettes and vaping devices.
- Any breach of this policy will result in a minimum cleaning charge of £300.00 applied to the guest’s payment card.
Suites Policy
- Suites are designated for adults only.
- No guests under the age of 18 are permitted in suite accommodation.
Drugs & Illegal Substances
- The possession or use of illegal drugs, non-prescribed controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia is strictly prohibited within the Hotel. Where such items are discovered:
- They may be confiscated
- The Police may be notified
- Accommodation may be terminated immediately without refund
- A minimum administration and cleaning charge of £300.00 may be applied
Restaurant & Event Deposits
- For selected dates and occasions, including but not limited to Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and New Year’s Eve, restaurant reservations for groups of 10 or more may require a deposit.
- Deposits are non-refundable in the event of cancellation.
Lost Property
- Lost property items are retained for one month only.
- Guests should contact the Hotel to check whether an item has been found.
- Guests are responsible for arranging collection or courier delivery at their own expense.
- The Hotel will make reasonable efforts to assist but accepts no liability for items during collection or delivery.
CCTV
- CCTV operates in public areas and selected staff areas of the Hotel for operational management and security purposes. Recordings are retained for a limited period.
Liability
- Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Subject to this:
- The Hotel shall not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit or enjoyment.
- The Hotel’s maximum liability shall not exceed the total accommodation charges paid by the guest.
Governing Law
- These Terms & Conditions are governed by English law, and the Courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes.
